This day trip usually starts in Bomerano (one of the suburbs of Agerola situated at around 650m above sea level) and follows the world renowned “Path” until Nocelle. We would like to propose an alternative route that is not only very panoramic, but also offers historical and cultural stops not usually covered in the traditional circuit. We start our trip in Vettica Maggiore (located between Amalfi and Positano). The first stop after walking up a recently restored path for around 40 minutes is the “San Domenico” monastery (situated in a charming position at around 400m. asl), where we will visit the church of “St. Maria a Castro”(12th century) and the annexed 16th Century Dominican Cloister. This is also a great place to check out the typical flora and crops of this area.
After around 2 hours we will arrive in Nocelle, a small village of just 300 inhabitants which time has left untouched because of the lack of car access up to only a few years ago. From Nocelle (where, if you have worked up an appetite, we can stop for a snack in a very affordable restaurant) a local minibus is available to go to Positano or we can walk down in around 60 minutes.
Our excursion to the Amalfi Coast will allow you to admire breathtaking views and enchanting places ...
At the end of the excursion it is possible to reach Positano or Amalfi...
After this pleasant break, we will walk a further 30 to 45 min., to the Path of God continuing from West to East towards Nocelle, we will walk through and near very unique wild Mediterranean bush, costal forests and caves suspended half way between the sky and the deep blue sea. Not to ignore, that who suffers of “Dizziness”, could have difficulties, specially if leaning out too much.
